Flight helmets worn by crewmembers were often painted.  The paintings on the helmets would describe that particular member's personality.

We were extremely fortunate to have a couple of very talented artists in our midst, Jerry Franks and Ken Calotis.  

They are credited with transferring the images of most member's artwork to their helmets.
